| so I have a thought for another discussion topic... i think it would be nice to have a general thoughts section where people can post thoughts and possibly questions for all of us to think about and respond to... something where we can talk about what we are learning in scripture on our own as well... and we can respond and encourage each other through that... Just a thought |

i think that would be a good idea.
i was reading the other day in the book of acts about stephen.
i love how the apostles were so dedicated to their ministry and so sure of their calilng and giftedness that they didn't spread themselves too thin.
so what did they do?
they decided to form a team to handle the daily affairs of the growing body.
so they just found whoever wasn't talented enough to teach and lead, right?
wrong.
they chose the seven most Godly and revered men they could find.
they were the servants, the ones who made it possible for peter, james, john, etc... to do the work of leaders and teachers.
but make no mistake.
when stephen is placed before his accusers facing death,
he responds by delivering a sermon summarizing israel's struggles culminating in the gift of Christ Jesus.
could stephen teach?
most certainly.
should he have been a leader in the early church?
he was one.
he did so by serving, reading the Word, and listening to the teacher's wisdoms.
i love stephen.
i love the apostles who delegated authority and responsibility wisely.
i love the attitude of everyone involved.
"whatever it takes to advance the Name of Christ."
so what is your gifting?
how are you going to use it to further the cause?
how can you help others use their gifts?
why do you envy other's talents and despire so quickly your own? _________________ soli Deo gloria |

I realize it must take some time to keep this site up to date, however I enjoy commenting on the weeks teachings and adding my two cents. I particularily wanted to comment on the global missions night and the night Troy Nesbitt spoke. I looks like not much has changed since november, except the addition of the music team site. _________________ "Good is the enemy of Great" |
